Sunday Lunch Using Annabel Karmels' Recipe!

I had a chance to meet this fantastic chef at the famous Cybermummy conference in July. I have always wanted to review some of her books, as I think the recipes are just brilliant. I used her Baby & Toddler Complete Meal Planner when weaning Isabelle and have to admit that really helped me. This time I got the new "Top 100 Pasta Dishes" book for a review and cannot wait to tell you all about it!

In our family we love pasta, I mean we have it 3-4 times a week. If it was up to Isabelle she could have pasta every day, especially spaghetti bolognese, as probably many other children would. We also love pesto and I have tried Annabel's Spaghetti with pesto and it was a huge success! All the recipes are quite easy to prepare, something for the whole family, not just for the kids. If you love pasta like we do, I am sure you would love this book. The book is divided into a few sections: baby, toddler, poultry & pasta, meaty menus, favourite fish, and yummy veggies. I have tried a few recipes so far and am very impressed by them. Some of our favourites:
  • Pasta shells with salmon and broccoli
  • Chicken soup with alphabet pasta
  • Chicken Bolognese
  • Haddock and spinach pasta bake
When preparing the pesto, I originally thought it would be too difficult, but it's very easy. You just need some Parmesan, garlic, parsley, basil, sugar, pine nuts and a food processor. I used the original Italian Garofalo Spaghetti, which took a little longer to cook, but were delicious.

For more information or to buy it go to the official Annabel Karmel's website.
