When choosing this book for a review, I had no idea what to expect. As Isabelle is not usually a fussy eater, I just thought it would be nice to read some book about food with her. When I opened the book and looked at the first page, I had to laugh at the illustrations, they were really funny. And then it started, all these questions Isabelle was asking. I read her what it said on the pages and millions of questions followed. To be honest, as I am not a native speaker, some of them I have never heard and later on had to ask my English husband...which even he had to look some of them up. How would you explain a 3.5 year old daughter what this expression mean: "If my dog, Roger, can eat the same thing all the time, why not me?"Use your noodle!" my mother said.
To sum up, the book made me and my husband laugh, but my Isabelle was just confused, so I don't think it's suitable for her age group, but older children would like it, as it is a book explaining eating habits in a funny way. After reading it, I knew straight away who would love this book. My very good friend, an ESL teacher, who could use it to teach idioms to her students!
The book is written by Serge Bloch, ISBN 9781402771309, £8.99, Publisher - Sterling, and you can buy it here www.thegmcgroup.com
