A to Z Picture Book by Gyo Fujikawa - Review!

When reviewing books, I have been trying to choose books that could help Isabelle with learning numbers and letters. The A to Z Picture Book by Gyo Fujikawa is definitely a book your child will appreciate when learning letters. Each letter is presented first through black and white drawings on one double page, which are then followed by beautiful colour paintings on the following 2 pages.

When reading this book, not only we laugh when looking at some of the illustrations, but Isabelle has also learnt many new words and expressions. As Isabelle learns  a new letter every week at school, we have been looking at letters she has done so far. Our favourite has to be the first letter "A", featuring an alligator, an armadillo, but also an argument, anger or an agreement! The last three words are really nicely explained just observing the pictures. There is also a sentence about eating an apple before going to bed, which can help when persuading your child to eat fruit!

"Eat an apple before going to bed- make the doctor beg for bread."
( very similar to the Czech saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away!")
