Grandparents - The Gallery!

This week's gallery theme is grandparents. I wish I could show you a picture of my grandparents, but unfortunately I don't have any here in London. I loved my grandparents so much, and it was very hard for me to accept the fact they were no more in my life and were never able to meet daddy and Isabelle. They are still in my heart and always will be. My childhood memories can no one erase, they will stay with me forever!

I love my parents, and believe that they are the best grandparents to our Isabelle they could possibly ever be. They love her, adore her and spoil her too. I still remember my parents always saying that one day when I have children, they will never be the grandparents who spoil their grandchildren....To be honest, I want them to do that, as I believe that parents should be strict but grandparents should just be enjoying the little ones for as long as possible. It is really funny to see my parents doing this, as they never used to be like that with me and my brother.

So who is it on the photo with Isabelle? It's daddy's nan, who is 91. As they live near Belfast, we don't see them very often, but when we do, you can see how nan and granddad both enjoy her company and her presence definitely brightens up their lives. Nobody knows how many more years they will be here with us, but I think it's great that Isabelle has a chance to know them as they are great people who raised daddy and who have been like mum and dad to him.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the gallery posts!

By the way, last month the Fairy Hobmother wished me a Happy Birthday and treated me to an Amazon voucher worth £30. This magical fairy, who works at applianceonline, will be watching this post and all the comments, and then will choose one lucky person and will offer them a gift. If you would like to be visited by the Fairy Hobmother, make a wish in your comment, and you never know, you might be the lucky one!

  2. What a lovely photo, Isabelle is so lucky to have her Great-Grandparents in her life. Even though you don't get to see them very often, they're moments to treasure.

I wish, I wish, I wish I had a better song in my head than the theme tune to Rastamouse!

  6. What a lovely post, my kids are lucky to be surrounded by their Grandparent's, and are spoilt rotten by them, although mainly in the quality time they devote to them, rather than material things.

Fairy Hobmother, I wish for an ice cream maker to keep us supplied with sweet treats for the summer holidays & two imminenent birthday parties.

  8. What a lovely post I think grandparents are sometimes taken for granted. Toby is so lucky to have two sets of loving grandparents as was I. My last surviving grandad recently passed away and I realised just how much I miss them all

  9. I agree with you grandparents are for the spoiling whereas we are for the discipline.

  11. How gorgeous is that pic?!
Skype has made a huge difference in nurturing my son't relationship with his grandparents. Both of my parents recently passed away so it's just my husbands parents who are left, but live down south so don't see the wee one too often.
C may only be 20 months old but he totally gets the concept of video chat and entertains them for hours on end. Last night this involved pulling his nappy down and pointing his bum at them!
Fairy hobmother....my wish is for a dustbuster to hoover up all of the tiny shrunken cheerios dotted about our home at all times!

  12. I regret that my children never knew my Nan,she was such a vivacious character. They have a great relationship with my dad and step mum though.
I'd love for the fairy hobmother to bring my family a soda stream maker.

  13. I have the same feelings. My grandad died long before my children were born and it tears my heart apart that he did not have the chance to see them. I absolutely adored him! (@pandcands)
