On Thursday morning I was packing sandwiches and other stuff for a picnic at Isabelle's school. I don't know who was more excited, me or Isabelle? Unfortunately, daddy wasn't able to attend, but I managed to record the great sport moments of our daughter on the flip and my SLR camera too.
So after breakfast we drove daddy to the station, then off to the school. It took me a while to park, but I knew we had plenty of time, so I wasn't stressing out. When we arrived at school, all the children were already there, and the teacher showed me where the other parents were already sitting and waiting for the event to start. We still had plenty of time, so I was happily twittering on my phone. Then it was just 10 minutes left, and I thought, it would be a good idea to check my camera and also have a look at the pictures from Cybermummy. I turned it on...and I almost had a heart attack! I forgot the memory card in my laptop at home. I often do it, when uploading photos for my blog posts, and daddy always complains....
It took me just a few seconds before I made the decision to run back to our car and drive back home. I can tell you, if there were any speed cameras, I would have gotten booked. I know I shouldn't have driven so fast, but I couldn't miss taking pictures of Isabelle's first sports day...could I? No, I was doing it for me, for daddy and for Isabelle. I managed to get home and back to school within 10 minutes, and part of it is that I am very fit thanks to my training for the marathon...at least I think so.
Anyway, I sat down, sweating, and breathing heavily, but really happy that my mission was accomplished!
When watching my Isabelle racing, I was sooo proud of her. I was one of the parents really encouraging and shouting their child's name. Later when I asked Isabelle if she had heard me, she had a little smile on her face and said she did, "everybody did, mummy!"
Anyway, I was a bit disappointed there wasn't a parents' race, but apparently next year there will be one for sure, so I just have to make sure I keep running so that Isabelle can be cheering me up too.

Looks like she takes after her mum !
