All Kinds of Kittens - A book review!

Isabelle has recently been more and more interested in pets and animals. When I was sent this storytime stickers book, I saved it for our flight to the Czech Republic. Last Friday we had a lot of fun sticking all the kittens, dogs, baskets and other things on the colourful pages of the book. Would you believe there is ONE HUNDRED of stickers? I don't know any child that doesn't love stickers, and our Isabelle is not an exception. They were very easy to peel off and place somewhere else. When we re-created the story, we managed to remove them without tearing them, so they are kind of re-usable. Our verdict: a great stickers book!

Title: Storytime Stickers: All Kinds of Kittens
Author: Kim Norman, illustrated by Bettina Ogden
    ISBN: 9781402774645
    Price: £3.99 (incl. VAT)
    Publisher: Sterling

    Isabelle skiing again!

This half- term holiday we are spending with our family and friends in the Czech Republic. It's almost the end of winter, but if you drive to the mountains (about half an hour away from my parent's place) you cannot see any signs of the end of the winter yet. It's freezing here, about -15C  at night and up to -5C during the day, but it's sunny and just beautiful. We love it.

Last year Isabelle started skiing for the first time, not even 3 years old. This year she was really looking forward to going again. I have to say that she is much better this year and she is clearly enjoying it. After  a few days she has improved  a lot, so next year we will definitely go for a family ski holiday to the highest mountains of the Czech Republic, Krkonose. We should be going with our friends, so it should be a lot of fun.

    The Gallery - Expressions!

This week's gallery theme is "expressions". I'm giving you my darling Isabelle and her ways of expressing. When I went through a few hundreds of photos, I realised most of them are of Isabelle and most of them were taken when she was smiling or being cheeky. What do you think, which suits her better, smiling or a cheeky monkey face?

Don't forget to check out the other gallery posts!

Fitness Tuesday - Week 31 - Aqua Jogging!

After having a few very bad days, I feel very enthusiastic and optimistic again,  and my battle with the "runner's knee" is still on. After talking to Karen, my personal trainer, I have decided to start aqua jogging. Just before my holiday the aqua floating belt arrived and I went to test it out straight away! First I swam  20  breast stroke laps, and then I did 40 minuntes of aqua jogging. It was much harder than I thought. There were many people just staring at me and at the end one brave old lady even asked me : "can I just ask, what is this good for?" I can tell you it looks much easier than it really is. After 40 minutes I was quite tired. I cannot wait to practise it together with Karen after my holidays. I just hope that this will help with my runner's knee and staying fit for running the marathon!

This is what I managed to do last week:

Tuesday:  REST + knee strengthening and stretching ex
Wednesday: 20 mins rowing + 20 mins running + knee strengthening and stretching ex
Thursday: 20 mins swimming, 40 minutes aqua jogging + knee strengthening and stretching ex
Friday: Rest (flight to the CR) + knee strengthening and stretching ex
Saturday: 60 minutes swimming ( breast stroke, non stop) + knee strengthening and stretching ex
Sunday: REST + knee strengthening and stretching ex
Monday: REST + knee strengthening and stretching ex

Just a little reminder that you could support me (Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity) by sponsoring me. THANK YOU!

Thank you to my sponsor https://www.nestle-purelife.co.uk and also Kiddicare for donating
    an amazing amount of £500!

Happy birthday mum - 60th birthday celebration!

Celebrating my mum's birthday with her at home, in the Czech Republic, has probably been one of the best presents we could have given to her. It's great to be together as a family. Unfortunatelly, daddy couldn't be with us as he went to see his grandparents in Belfast. My mum was very happy to have us all together and even let me take  a few pictures of her...She hates having pictures taken, I don't really understand why, as I think she looks great for her age. Anyway, just check out some of the pictures from this great celebration.

So this is to say "Happy birthday" to my mum, I love her very much and hope she will stay happy and healthy for many more years. Love you, mum!

Tartar's steak with fried bread, my favourite meal!
     Me, congratulating to my mum!
     My dearest parents!

Rapunzel, let down your hair - Tangled reviewed!

Last Tuesday afternoon was very special for my little girl, as we went to watch the new Disney movie "Tangled". We didn't go just to a standard cinema, but we were given tickets to see it at the BFI IMAX cinema in London, on the largest screen you can find in the UK! Isabelle has never been to the IMAX before, so I was very excited for her not just to see this movie but to experience watching in on this giant screen.

I picked her up after pre-school, and off we went to catch a train to Waterloo. There were no problems on tube, so we got there a bit earlier, but that was fine with us as we had to find it first. I have to say that it was very easy to find the building as it was well sign posted, but we had a little trouble to get in as there were roads around it and we couldn't see the entrance... So I asked a few people, but nobody seemed to know how to get in. Luckily there were these 3 teenage girls and they showed us. When we got there we picked up our tickets and went to get some popcorn. Then we picked up our 3D glasses and went inside. As we entered Isabelle just looked overwhelmed by the size of the screen and straight away was asking why were the stairs so steep and why was the screen so big and why and why and why.... Her eyes had an extra sparkle in them and I knew she was very happy.

I am sure many of you have seen this movie, but watching it on this big screen was just magical. I was also happy Isabelle kept her 3D glasses on all the time. She tried taking them off, but when she realised she couldn't see as well as when wearing them, she put them back on. There were a few times when she got up and was trying to touch the flying objects or Rapunzel. I was laughing and crying at the same time as I could see how much she was sucked into the story. We loved it, even though Isabelle kept on saying that it is different to the story she knew. It was a great movie, and at the end of the movie I cried when Rapunzel was re-united with her parents. It just seemed so real. Beautiful story and a wonderful experience watching it at the BFI IMAX cinema.

On our way back home there were some tube disruptions, so we had plenty of time to talk about the movie. I could see she remembered so much and was very excited about telling her friends and daddy about it. She also said she liked this cinema the best and would love to come back again. We will see, maybe we will be back very soon!

Laura Ashley launching girlswear - review and competition!

When I say "Laura Ashley", I am sure that many of you will nod your head and have a nice smile on your face, as I don't know anyone who wouldn't like their products. I have two great news for you. Which one would you like to hear first? OK, OK, if you have a little girl at home like me, you will love to hear that Laura Ashley have just launched girlswear! Have I brought smiles to your faces again? I am sure I have!

The collection is designed for girls aged 2 up to 8.  There are two main themes – Beach Hut and Summer House – which will form this season’s collection. It features lots of the all-over print for which Laura Ashley is renowned – spots, stripes, florals – and motifs that smack of summer days: typical seaside imagery, like shells, starfish and fish, as well as garden party-style images of cupcakes, fruits and butterflies. I am very excited about this collection as I love Laura Ashley and now I will be able to get some beautiful pieces for my Isabelle too. Just look at the product images, aren't they gorgeous?

    BELLA MOBILE CEILING SHADE Review

We were very lucky and have been sent this gorgeous Bella mobile ceiling shade for Isabelle's bedroom. I knew Isabelle would love it as she admires butterflies and it is PINK. When we unpacked it and hang it up in her bedroom, we were sitting underneath and just watching the beautiful butterflies moving around. I honestly think I have never seen any  girls ceiling shade more stunning than this one. Isabelle was also very excited about seeing it at night , and I can only hope that this beautiful ceiling shade will stop her night terrors coming back every night.

Are you still reading? Well done, as now I will reveal the second news, which you will be very excited about! And it is.....the competition time!

Earth Friendly Kids products review and competition!

I love reviewing products that are developed with the mother nature in mind. The Earth Friendly Kids products we were sent  for a review are a proof of combining good and earth- friendly with nicely smelling. We went for the minty lavender fragrance as I believe the presence of lavender is crucial for a good night's sleep, but the Zingy Citrus sounds tempting too.

Isabelle loves having her lavender bubble bath and the smell has even tempted me into sharing a bath with her. We had  a lot of fun, while relaxing and enjoying the beautiful smell that filled our bathroom. The hand wash and body lotion smell divine too and are very easy to apply using the pump. Isabelle has made new friends with Cosmo, Sophie, Leo, Daya and Spiro, and makes up stories about them while having a bath or washing her hands. She loves creams and lotions, so  I have no idea how long this one will last, as she uses it all the time. The last product we were sent, were gentle organic Aloe Vera wipes. They are flushable and 100% biodegradable, so not only great for potty training but also kind to our nature, and that's what we very often forget.

For all the updates on their products check out their Facebook page Earth Friendly Kids
